As “Siegesburg” in the 12th century, the present Bad Segeberg stands on the 91-meter-high lime mountain. The aerial health resort of Bad Segeberg is located on the south-western edge of the Holsteinische Schweiz and before it became internationally known it was known thanks to the Karl May’s festival.

The limestone caves were discovered only at the beginning of the 20-th century. They are the most northern caves of Germany which are the home for about 15,000 bats and other unique animals which live only there. The centre of Noctalis informs about it. There is also cave guidance offered for the tourists. In the oldest building of the city works the home museum.

Prevention, acute accent treatment and rehabilitation under the roof - this is what Bad Segeberg Clinic offers. There is also a heart diseases center.
