Church, museum and historic buildings

The sacristy of the Evangelical-Augsburg church in Pasym houses a parish museum. The items kept there include liturgical vessels, coats of arms of former town guilds and old books connected with parish life. The church is also the venue for a regular summer concert series featuring organ music, held every year. The museum and concerts offer different cultural points of interest: historic objects and books alongside a recurring musical series.

The town hall, built in 1855, stands in the middle of the market square. Its design was modelled on Babelsberg Palace; the building is in the English Gothic Revival style. Pasym’s older history includes surviving fragments of fortification walls dating from the second half of the 15th century. These buildings reflect different periods: the medieval fortifications and the 19th-century town hall can be viewed as distinct chapters in the town’s history.

Another building from a more recent period is the water tower in the town park. It was built in 1910–1911. Those interested in Pasym’s architectural development will find another historic landmark here, in addition to the town hall and the surviving fragments of the walls.

Lake Kalwa and the cycling loop

Dzika Plaża is a bathing area in Pasym on Lake Kalwa. Its shoreline is 35 metres long; the lake is no more than 31.7 metres deep at this point, with an average depth of 7 metres. The area is used for recreation and has a bathing pier. These specific measurements give an indication of the size of the shoreline and the water depth at this location. For an active exploration, the yellow-marked Pajtuński Młyn cycle route is a longer option: the loop is 35 kilometres long, passes through the municipalities of Pasym and Purda, and starts and ends in Pasym. The locality of Pajtuński Młyn lies halfway along the route. It is therefore described as a circular route starting and finishing in Pasym; you can take its length into account when planning a day of cycling. Exterior scenes for the television series “Dom nad rozlewiskiem” and “Miłość nad rozlewiskiem” were filmed in Pasym’s narrow streets and along its lake shores, as well as at Pajtuński Młyn.

Getting here and finding accommodation

Pasym is on national road DK53 between Olsztyn and Ostrołęka. Pasym railway station is on the Olsztyn–Szczytno railway line, 3 kilometres from the town centre. These road and rail connections offer different options for planning your journey to Pasym.
