Scharbeutz

In the most western corner or also in the heart of the Lübeck bay is located the seaside health resort of Scharbeutz with the village of Haffkrug. The guests are offered more than 8000 lodgings mainly from small private renters. While the present seaside health resort of Scharbeutz has 1000-year history, which is still the oldest seaside resort in the Lübeck bay, the seaside health resort of Haffkrug was founded only at the beginning of the 19th century. In the hinterland of both seaside resorts of Pönitzer Seenplatte a lowland plain full of lakes and forms an ideal supplement for the holiday offer.

The former fishing village of Scharbeutz is a seaside resort since 1830. The guest can find the most important facilities all around the health resort park. The Ostsee-Therme, an indoor swimming pool, is a national known bath, sauna and leisure paradise.

The Baltic Sea is a part of this holiday centre since the seaside health resort of Scharbeutz has been united together with some Danish holiday regions into the "Team Family" project to create common holiday areas for families. Haffkrug is considered, with its pier, crystal-clear water and especially fine-sandy beach, to be also the “Northern Riviera”.

Together with the Pönitzer Seenplatte the seaside health resorts of Scharbeutz and Haffkrug offer a well opened and well signposted paradise not only for cyclists, runners, fullers and yachtsmen, but also for canoe tourists.
