Naturum and Brunnspark

Naturum Blekinge is located in Ronneby Brunnspark Cultural Reserve. It provides information, exhibitions and activities for the whole family. The exhibitions focus on Ronneby Brunnspark, the Bräkneån Valley, Blekinge’s sea, coast and archipelago, as well as ARK56 and outdoor life in Blekinge.

Naturum Blekinge can be reached by train or bus to Ronneby Travel Centre; from there, it is about a ten-minute walk to the park and Naturum. Ronneby Brunnspark has its origins as a spa resort from the early 18th century, includes 25 listed buildings and covers 100 hectares. The park is free and open to the public.

South of the locality of Ronneby, near Brunnspark, lies the Södra Brunnsskogen nature reserve. It comprises a larger continuous forest area with broadleaf trees and older pine forest, serving as a walking area close to the town. In the nature reserve, paths continue a short distance south towards the coast.

Art and History

Kulturcentrum Ronneby Konsthall presents 10 to 15 exhibitions each year featuring regional, national and international contemporary art, design and crafts. At the art gallery, visitors can try enamel, textiles, graphics and risography. The northern art gallery of Kulturcentrum Ronneby also houses an open workshop where visitors can work creatively with the provided materials and tools.

The oldest parts of Heliga Kors kyrka date from the late 12th century; the church was completed in the 15th century. It houses Blekinge’s largest collection of Renaissance art. In the 13th-century town, Heliga Kors kyrka is considered its only surviving medieval building.

Möllebackagården is a local heritage museum in Ronneby’s cultural district with preserved interior furnishings. The oldest part was built in the late 18th century and served as a residence for various mill owners for a hundred years. Möllebackagården is open to the public in summer.

The Danish King Hans’s flagship, the Gribshunden, sank off the coast of Ronneby in the summer of 1495. Kallvattenkuren presents authentic finds from the Gribshunden and the story behind the wreck.

Trails through Forest, Town and Coast

The RonnebySlingor circular route starts and ends at Naturum. It passes through Ronneby town centre, nature reserves, Bronze Age burial mounds and Ronneby harbour. Ekorrestigen is a 1.2-kilometre family trail through the forest where visitors can discover animals and plants.

The Gribshundsleden trail is named after the 15th-century Danish warship Gribshunden and passes the site where the shipwreck was found. For canoeing and kayaking, the Ronnebyån offers a 70-kilometre route through dense forest. The Karlsnäsgården–Ronneby section is considered a classic final section on the Ronnebyån.

Ronneby Brunnsbad is an outdoor adventure pool in the middle of Ronneby Brunnspark. The facility includes the 93-metre-long Magic Hole slide, a 25-metre pool for training and swimming, channels, coves, a lagoon and a lazy river.
