Hiking in Aarup: five trails starting in the town

The Aarup-Stierne comprise five different hiking trails starting in Aarup. The trail system therefore offers several independent route options within the town. When planning an active day, the five trails can be considered separately. Together, the trails form a clear focus for exploring Aarup on foot.

The blue Skydebjerg Mose route is approximately 8 kilometres long and starts at Aarup Skole. Aarup Skole is the specific starting point.

There are toilets on the Aarup-Stierne at Aarup railway station and at Møllegårdsskoven. The two locations provide additional fixed points for organising a hike and can be taken into account when planning.

Art and music at Kulturhuset Industrien

At Kulturhuset Industrien, Kunstforeningen Galleriet presents ten different exhibitions every year, changing monthly. They include paintings, ceramics, glass, sculptures, photographs and paper works. The monthly sequence and broad range of materials give the exhibition space in Aarup a clear progression without limiting it to a single theme.

Kunstforeningen Galleriet holds a vernissage on the first Thursday of every month from 5 to 6 p.m. Visitors can meet the current artist there.

Musik PÃ¥ Industrien, or MPIA for short, is a volunteer association that organises concerts at Kulturhuset Industrien in Aarup. The concerts include rock, folk, jazz, blues and pop. Since MPIA also performs at the same Kulturhuset, Kunstforeningen Galleriet and the concert programme are located at a shared cultural venue in Aarup.

Musik Midt i Aarup is a free one-day festival held every year. In addition to the concerts, it is therefore a festival format limited to one day and with no admission fee.

Erholm Park and the surrounding landscape

Erholm Park is a historic park laid out in the English romantic landscape style. Hilly terrain, winding paths and idyllic lakes define the grounds; there are also rare trees from Denmark and abroad.

Erholm Gods has a history dating back to the 16th century. Frøbjerg Bavnehøj is also located in the vicinity of Aarup. At 131 metres above sea level, it is the highest point on Funen; the area around Frøbjerg Bavnehøj is protected.

Library and creative activities

Aarup Bibliotek hosts events and exhibitions for children and adults. Children and adults are the age groups addressed by the library programme.

At Corra Design in Orte, just outside Aarup, you can design your own candles. Since Orte is located just outside Aarup, this attraction is part of the surrounding area rather than the town itself.
