Discover Søndersø: Trails, History and Exploring the Town

Søndersø combines four Kløverstier trails with local history, Bypark and destinations in the surrounding area. Here, trails for different modes of transport meet historical points of reference, playful exploration of the town and Lake Dallund.

Active Trails and Connections

Several different trail options are at the heart of active days in Søndersø. There are four Kløverstier trails that can be used on foot, by bicycle or for running. In addition, Søndersø has a network of paths with connections to Morud and Langesøskoven. Morud and Langesøskoven give this network of paths two directions, while the Kløverstier trails add the choice between walking, cycling and running. This allows you to plan your outdoor activities according to your preferred type: a walk, a bike ride or a run. For the connection to Odense, bus route 300A travels from Søndersø to Odense in 20 minutes. This means that, alongside activities locally, a trip to Odense can also be included in your daily plans. Local History and Tørne

Søndersø dates back as a village to around 1100. The church is also part of the town’s history: in the Middle Ages, it was dedicated to Saint Peter and Saint Paul. Another specific feature in the townscape is the iron sculpture Tørne. It was installed in 2000 on the road that had previously been the main road between Bogense and Odense. Tørne stands in a roundabout in Søndersø and was created by the artist Kurt Tegtmeier. In the townscape, Tørne links the former route between Bogense and Odense with its location in the roundabout. The historical arc thus stretches from the church’s medieval dedication to the installation of the sculpture in 2000.

Bypark and Playful Exploration

Søndersø Bypark has a large climbing course and a skate park. There is also an obstacle course along Carlsvej to Søndersø Bypark. Bypark therefore contains two facilities, while another course incorporates the route along Carlsvej.

A separate way to explore the town is the book game “Med Noah og Sofia på eventyr i Søndersø”. It combines reading, play and a walk through the town. In it, you experience three different adventures and make decisions that determine how the story unfolds. Through the three adventures and your own decisions, the walk through the town is given a narrative framework. Surroundings and Seasonal Note

There is a rose garden near Dallund in the surrounding area of Søndersø. You can also walk around Lake Dallund in the surrounding area of Søndersø all year round. Near Dallund, a garden and a lake are therefore added as different destinations in the surrounding area. The walk around Lake Dallund is consequently not limited to a single season. The Blommefestival was announced for August in Søndersø. For planning purposes, the distinction is clear: the walk around Lake Dallund is possible all year round, while the Blommefestival was announced for August.
