Skummeslövsstrand by the Sea and Coast

Skummeslövsstrand is a destination for everyone who wants to combine the sea and coastal landscape with experiences in nature. Shallow saltwater bathing in the sea, a traditional outdoor swimming pool, and several nature reserves shape the range of options available locally. Bathing Jetty, Bathing Platform and Outdoor Swimming Pool

Below Stora Strandvägen is a 120-metre-long bathing jetty. The jetty leads to the water and is one of the distinctive points along the coast of Skummeslövsstrand. Skummeslövsbryggan also has an accessibility-adapted ramp and a bathing platform. This means that specific structural features for spending time by the sea are documented at this section, without any further access or service offerings being inferred from them.

Skummeslövsbadet adds its own historical touch: the traditional outdoor swimming pool is located 50 metres from the sea and was inaugurated in 1961. Dunes and Nature Reserves

The Svarvareskogen nature reserve is located in the southern part of Skummeslövsstrand. Several marked walking paths lead through the dune landscape. The nature reserve also recalls the struggle against the sand. Parking is available at the tennis courts.

The Norra Skummeslöv nature reserve is also located in the vicinity of Skummeslövsstrand, along the coastal road between Mellbystrand and Skummeslövsstrand. It is characterised by planted pine forest on a former drifting-sand field and crossed by well-trodden paths.

Cycling Route, Coastal Path and Orientation

The Södra Skummeslöv nature reserve is another point of reference. The “Skummeslövsstrand” bus stop is located 1 kilometre from the area around the reserve. The Kattegattleden passes by the nature reserve. The reserve’s car park is 500 metres from the crossing at Allarpsvägen.

The Kustslingan Skummeslövsstrand–Båstad runs through the forest and along the sea and is suitable for trail running. A Local Highlight on Västkustvägen

Another special place is Skummeslövs fruktlund on Västkustvägen. In 2022, the municipality established an orchard there around a pond, with fruit trees, berry bushes, strawberries, and hazelnuts. Visitors are allowed to pick fruit, berries, strawberries, and hazelnuts at Skummeslövs fruktlund. The site complements the coastal and nature themes with a specific, municipally created experience in the locality.
