Landscape between Gnoien and Tessin

Walkendorf is located north of the Mecklenburg Switzerland and southeast of Rostock in a hilly landscape between the small towns of Gnoien and Tessin.

The two small lakes Schloßsee and Egelsee are located west of the village of Walkendorf. Schloßsee covers 3 hectares, while Egelsee covers 0.5 hectares.

Walkendorf is characterized by agricultural land. North and west of Stechow lies mixed forest, while northeast of Dalwitz there is another mixed-forest area called Buchholz.
