Gülzow: Hotels and Accommodation

Gülzow was first documented in 1226. During the Thirty Years’ War, Gülzow and its church were destroyed. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the village developed from a former linear settlement into a village arranged around a central green.

Village Character

Gülzow’s character as a village arranged around a central green includes a remarkable stock of old trees. Farmsteads also contribute to the village character. A centrally located village pond is part of the characteristic village surroundings; in the village centre, a rest point for cyclists is located at the pond surrounded by houses. Gülzow and its districts are associated with protected historic buildings in the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district.

Cycle Paths and Landscape

The revised “Eikbom un See” cycle route links the Ivenack Oaks, Lake Kummerow and the literary heritage of Fritz Reuter. Gülzow is also included in the former “In the Footsteps of Fritz Reuter” cycle route.

The 34-kilometre “Stavenhagen and Fritz Reuter” cycle tour reaches Gülzow through fields and meadows. The Stavenhagen–Gülzow cycle tour continues through the wooded Ostpeene Valley and a nature reserve.

District road K 38 runs between Gülzow and Stavenhagen.
