Culture and History
At the center of Fürstenhagen stands the single-nave church designed by Oberbaurat Buttel in 1867 and consecrated on December 20, 1869. It replaced an earlier half-timbered church. Today, the church also serves as a venue for cultural and artistic events, making it a place of meeting and exchange in the village.
In the vicinity of Fürstenhagen are the church ruins, the monastery ruins, and Steinwerder. Bollenwerder and the Wedding Chapel are also located nearby; further away in the surrounding region are the Blankenburg ruins.
Landscape
The Feldberg Lake District nature park region associated with Fürstenhagen is characterized by glacial end moraines, numerous lakes, and protected habitats. The natural features described also include otters and several species of eagle.
