Culture and History

The visible outlines of a Slavic hillfort dating from the 10th century have been preserved in the vicinity of the Old Brickworks. Bronze Age megalithic tombs can be seen between Grabowhöfe and Sommerstorf.

In the vicinity of Grabowhöfe, Sommerstorf is home to a Gothic brick church dating from the second half of the 13th century. It contains a Baroque altar from the 18th century decorated with carved figures. The former manor house of Grabowhöfe, known as the “White House,” as well as an old carpentry workshop, a forge, and a pigsty are now used as residential buildings.
