Schlemmin is a municipality in the western part of the Vorpommern-Rügen district, southeast of Ribnitz-Damgarten.
Culture
Schlemmin Castle is a neo-Gothic building. It was built in 1846 by architect Eduard Knoblauch and stands on the foundations of a moated castle dating from the 14th century.
The village church of Schlemmin is a 13th-century church. It is within walking distance of the castle and is frequently requested for church weddings. Following major repairs, it was reconsecrated in 1878.
Nature
The castle is set in a 20-hectare park. Features of the castle park include linden avenues, oaks, beeches, and waterways.
