Brüsewitz: Hotels and Accommodation

A walk through the town center reveals the layout of the former Brüsewitz estate village.

History and Culture

The original Brüsewitz cultural center comprised a festival hall, a stage, and a screening room for films. In the late Middle Ages, the village church of Groß Brütz became a pilgrimage church with a miraculous image of the Virgin Mary. As a Gothic brick church, it has a polygonal chancel and a massive west tower; it also preserves heraldic galleries associated with the estate villages of the parish.

Townscape and Landscape

The former Dutch house has been preserved as a half-timbered building along the old village road. It was rebuilt in 1861 with two apartments and a classroom. Rudolf and Ulrich erected the Elise Monument after Elise died in a tragic accident. Today, a section of the avenue in the estate park, lined with old chestnut trees, has also been preserved.

Groß Brütz railway station is located in Brüsewitz and offers bicycle parking.

Routes in the Surrounding Area

The Stepenitztal Route runs between Brüsewitz and Rosenow through the Rosenow spruce forest and includes a water-bound section there.
