Boiensdorf: Hotels and Accommodation

The Boiensdorfer Werder protected landscape covers around 90 hectares and is largely undeveloped. Natural shoreline sections and several cliffs characterize the protected area. The agricultural land is an important resting place for migratory birds, including mute swans and barnacle geese.

Nature

The Boiensdorfer Werder includes salt marshes with lagoons and channels that are extensively grazed by cattle. Swimming and long beach walks are possible there as nature-based recreational activities.

Boiensdorf is situated in gently hilly surroundings of fields, forests, and meadows on the Salzhaff. From the viewpoint, the view extends across the Salzhaff, over Wustrow, and onward to the open Baltic Sea. The Boiensdorf area also offers shallow-water views of Wustrow and the Langenwerder bird sanctuary island.

Water and Paths

Visitors from outside Boiensdorf can use the beach access ramp for a fee. The Boiensdorf surf spot is a shallow-water area without significant waves or currents. With westerly to northeasterly winds, it offers a 200-meter-wide standing area.

Outdoor routes, including hiking and cycling routes, are described near the Boiensdorfer Werder. One route near the Boiensdorfer Werder is described as the Salzhaff loop, with views from Langenwerder Island. Boiensdorf is also considered a starting point for fishing trips.

Culture

The Stove Art House has a sculpture garden and also includes a straw-bale and clay house used as a studio. The Dutch windmill in Stove was built in 1889 and has retained its wind-powered drive and milling equipment. Visitors can observe how wheat and rye are turned into flour and then processed into bread and baked goods.
