At beach access point 5 in Groß Schwansee, the Fischerkaten nature center offers educational programs about the coast of the Klützer Winkel region and information on nature conservation. It can be reached by bicycle via the Baltic Sea Cycle Route; by car, the dirt road west of Groß Schwansee’s second beach parking lot leads directly to the center.

History and Culture

Groß Schwansee Estate is a manor house dating from the 18th century, originally built in the Baroque style and later redesigned in the Neoclassical style. The restored complex has been operated as a hotel and conference center since 2004.

Dog Beach 1 is located in the immediate vicinity of Groß Schwansee. The surrounding area of Groß Schwansee also includes Rosenhagen Beach, the Cultural-Historical Monument Bird Park, Dassow, St. Nicholas Church, St. Lorenz, and Bothmer Palace Park.
