Luckow: Hotels and Accommodations
Luckow is located in the Ueckermünde Heath. In the district of Rieth, the landscape extends to the Polish border: the village lies on the southern shore of Lake Neuwarper and is surrounded by forests and water as a fishing village.
Nature
Lake Neuwarper is a bay on the southern coast of the Szczecin Lagoon and is connected to it by two narrow entrances. Together with Riether Werder, it forms an important breeding and resting area for waterfowl. Riether Werder is not accessible to the public.
Trails
A cycling and hiking trail runs from Rehhagen to Rieth along the edge of the protected area. Luckow's cycling and hiking trails lead through landscapes of mixed and pine forests, fields, and meadows. A walk offers views of Lake Neuwarper and passes by Christiansberg Botanical Garden.
Garden
Christiansberg Botanical Garden is a private show garden covering 30,000 square meters that has been expanded since 1982. The garden includes a pond, a shade garden, a peony area, a heath garden, and an alpine garden. Around 100 varieties bloom in the magnolia garden at the beginning of May. The grounds have been open year-round to garden and nature enthusiasts since 1994.
Culture
Luckow is home to a half-timbered village church that is considered a local attraction and is protected as a cultural monument. Rieth also has a small local history room.
