Pasewalk: Hotels and Accommodation

Pasewalk is a small town in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the administrative seat of the Uecker-Randow-Tal administrative district.

Landscape

South of Pasewalk, the landscape is characterized by the fertile, gently rolling ground moraine terrain of the Uckermark. To the north lies the Ueckermünde Heath, which formed on sands deposited by meltwater from the Uecker proglacial valley. Near Pasewalk, the Uecker is associated with extensive meadow areas.

History and Culture

The name Pasewalk first appears in documentary records in 1240. The place is first documented as a town in 1276; however, it is believed to have been granted town rights earlier, probably shortly after 1250. Around 1720, the settlement of Huguenots in Pasewalk brought numerous new trades and helped revive the area after the Thirty Years' War.
