Iven: Hotels and Accommodation

The village church of Iven is an elongated fieldstone building with an integrated rectangular west tower and a hipped roof. It was built in the 17th century on the foundations of an earlier structure. A stone inscription plaque commemorates Felix Friedrich von Flemming, who died in 1738; the church also has an organ by Friedrich A. Mehmel.

Iven and its surroundings are rich in geological features.

The inland area of Western Pomerania is shaped by the river systems of the Peene, Recknitz and Tollense. In Western Pomerania, the Peene Valley River Landscape Nature Park is promoted as a destination for nature-based visits.

The south tower at Landskron Fortress is accessible again. The fortress can be visited and serves as a rest stop for hikers and cyclists. The protected trees at Landskron Fortress include English oaks with trunk circumferences of up to 4.50 metres.

Water and Trails

Further along the Peene Valley, the Peene flows through a large nature reserve and a pristine moorland landscape.

Further along the Peene Valley, you can also explore the Peene by Canadian canoe or kayak. The landscape can also be explored there by bicycle or on foot, as well as by canoe and solar-powered boat.

Further along the Peene Valley, the Peene Valley Circular Trail follows meadows, fields and wet floodplains along Lake Kummerow. The Peene Valley Cycle Route offers opportunities there to see cranes, bitterns, ospreys and beavers.
