Kenz-Küstrow: Hotels and accommodations

Culture

As a restored former pilgrimage church, St. Mary's in Kenz is a sight worth seeing. Its choir windows form the largest surviving collection of such early medieval stained-glass paintings in northern Germany. At the same time, the church served as the burial church of the Pomeranian dukes. Because of the spring, Kenz became the first spa town in what is now Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. A pump at the Kenz spring provides visitors with refreshing, health-giving water; the ensemble of church and spring invites visitors to linger from spring to late autumn and offers fresh spring water. The pump house in Kenz is said to have been rebuilt in 2004 based on plans from the 18th century. A wooden cenotaph of Barnim VI dates from 1410.

Landscape

The villages of Kenz-Küstrow are situated on the Bodden coast in a gently rolling landscape crossed by springs and streams. In Rubitz's one-hectare village center, there are springs, old trees, and thatched-roof houses; the village center invites visitors to linger. As you approach from the west, Küstrow offers a sweeping view over the surrounding landscape and the Bodden.

Harbor and mobility

The Dabitz waterway mooring and rest area has more than 60 berths for recreational and sailing boats. Dabitz harbor attracts sailors and those seeking relaxation and offers a caravan pitch as well as camping facilities. Its service building houses a snack bar. The return journey to Barth is possible by regional train RB 25.
