Culture and History

Restored thatched-roof farmhouses, smallholder homes, and fishermen’s houses from the 18th and 19th centuries shape the historic village character of Gager. Nature

Gager provides access to hikes in the Zicker Berge nature reserve. The hilly, largely forest-free landscape includes the 66-meter-high Bakenberg and the Zicker Berg; extensive dry grasslands offer scenic views.

In the Zicker Berge hiking area, smartphone-based information on nature, settlement history, land use, and visitor conduct is available at 14 stations along designated trails. The Bakenberg and Teschenberg are located in the immediate surroundings of Gager, while Muglitzer Ort is in the surrounding area. The Lubmin beach is also located in the wider regional surroundings.
