Local history and historical perspectives

Hans Broges Bakker is a historically designed area that the merchant Hans Broge had created on the grounds of his villa. The villa was ready for occupancy in 1868 and mainly served as the Broge family's summer residence. The site thus combines a specific family history with the design of a historic area.

The Brabrand-Årslev Local History Archive conveys local history through lectures, urban walks, the publication of a local history calendar and booklets on local history topics. In addition, the oldest parts of Brabrand Church date approximately from the period between 1200 and 1250. Brabrand therefore offers different approaches to the past – through architectural history, personal and local narratives, as well as documented local topics.
