Femmøller: Hiking Trails, Mills and Nature
Between the Mølleåen and Mols Bjerge
Femmøller is one of the gateways to Mols Bjerge. This gives you a choice of paths, stages and routes that differ in length, course and landscape. The Mølleåen still flows through Femmøller. The three stages of the Mols Bjerge Trail also meet at the car park in Femmøller.
Historic Femmøller
Femmøller Efterskole is located in the region’s first seaside hotel, which was built in 1909. Kjerris Mølle is one of the four remaining historic mills along the Mølleåen in Femmøller. In the surrounding area of Femmøller, Egil Fischer’s Memorial Park forms part of a holiday town planned in the 1920s. This is considered Denmark’s first planned holiday town. Egil Fischer’s Memorial Park is located directly behind Femmøller Beach and is a beautiful natural area.
Hiking and stages
The Ebeltoft stage can be started in Femmøller. The marked Den italienske sti trail begins at the car park opposite Femmøller Efterskole and leads over a steep slope into Mols Bjerge. The 3.5 km trail passes through forests and heathland to Strandkær. Den italienske sti also runs through a protected natural forest with rare plants, butterflies and small animals.
Femmøllerstien is a 1.5 km hiking trail marked with yellow dots that leads from Femmøller into Mols Bjerge. The Bjergetapen is a circular route. A shortened 10 km loop of the Bjergetapen starts and ends in Femmøller; the shortcut is taken at Tremosevej. The different trail lengths and route formats help you plan your hike according to your preferred distance and route.
Beach, water and practical information
In the surrounding area of Femmøller, Femmøller Beach has relatively calm water and good swimming conditions. Femmøller Beach also offers good conditions for sea kayaking and boating in small boats in the surrounding area of Femmøller. There are public toilets and access to drinking water at Femmøller Beach in the surrounding area of Femmøller.
There are two non-bookable shelters in Femmøller. They are used on a first-come, first-served basis. A bus passes through Femmøller and stops, among other places, at the car park opposite Femmøller Efterskole.

Femmøller By is a suggested starting point for Rundt om bjergene. Rundt om bjergene is a hilly cycling route of approximately 15 km through and around Mols Bjerge. The Kalø stage begins at Kalø Slotskro and ends at Femmøller Efterskole.
