Reiu

Reiu combines Reiu Beach with a river landscape and active trails to create a versatile destination for families, nature enthusiasts and sporty travellers. If you are looking for accommodation in an area with a variety of excursion options, you will find both peaceful nature experiences and specific opportunities for an active day here.

Beach, Sunsets and River Landscape

Reiu Beach is warm and shallow, making it particularly suitable for families with children. An evening visit offers a particularly beautiful view: depending on the season, you can watch the sun set over the sea or behind the forest. In summer, the small Reiuranna Café is located on the beach in the shade of the trees. It serves light meals and drinks, including salads, pastries, grilled sandwiches and ice cream.

The Reiu River also shapes the natural experience. The nature reserve along the Reiu River includes the village of Reiu. It protects the habitat type “Rivers and streams” (3260), designated under Annex I of Directive 92/43/EEC. The river is navigable from its mouth to the railway bridge. Reiu is also home to a mass grave of victims of terror with two memorial markers, including a monument erected in 1967.

Marked Trails and Winter Sports

The Reiu–Raeküla trail network includes marked routes of 3 km, 5 km and 10 km for walking, running and mountain biking.

The Reiu–Raeküla trail network can also be accessed from Reiu Puhkekeskus.

In winter, the trail network has a 3 km illuminated artificial-snow track. It is intended both for classic cross-country skiing and freestyle skiing. Thus, Reiu is not only a destination for active days in summer, but also offers a clearly defined winter sports option.

Excursions for Families and Golf Enthusiasts

Lotte Village offers more than 100 attractions. Lotte Village’s adventure park is located in a pine forest and has several adventure courses with a climbing spider web, a zip line and a basket that is pulled up a tree. For visitors, the “Lottemaa” bus stop is located directly beside the new four-lane road; new footpaths and cycle paths on both sides lead directly to the entrance of Lotte Village.

At Pärnu Bay Golf Links, you will find a coastal links-style course with sandy soil and fescue grasses. The course has a par of 72 and is 4,500 to 6,200 metres long, depending on the tee. Facilities include an 18-hole course, a course with five par-3 holes, and practice areas for short and long shots. A two-hour golf introduction teaches the basics of the game and allows participants to take their first shots under the guidance of a professional coach.

For further comparison within the same selection, you can also consider Leina, Tammiste, Saulepa, Uulu, Kabli, Pärnu, Salu and Kurgja.
