The Church of St. Barbara gives Kokoszkowy an unusually distinctive historical profile: the small Gothic stone church was built around the middle of the 14th century and is a restored 14th-century Hospitaller church.

Culture

The stone used, which was rarely used in Pomerania near Gdańsk, makes the Church of St. Barbara an exceptional example of local cultural heritage. Its walls feature medieval painted motifs, including the so-called Zacheuszki: equal-armed crosses in circles with plant motifs.

Kokoszkowy lay on the historic route from Gdańsk to Starogard Gdański, the Droga Grzymisława. The Spichlerz Dworski in Kokoszkowy is also part of the tangible cultural heritage and is at the same time a tourist attraction. It is assigned to the Kociewie region and the Starogard Lakeland.

Several other cultural sites are located in the immediate vicinity of Kokoszkowy: Ratusz is a historic site, Adam Mickiewicz is a monument, Kościół św. Mateusza is a church, and Kościół św. Katarzyny is also a church.

Geographical setting

Destinations in the immediate vicinity also include Park Miejski, a park, and Działki, an area recorded as a park. In the wider regional surroundings of Kokoszkowy are the two hills Wzgorza nad Szczodrowem S and Wzgorza nad Szczodrowem N.
