Coast and Beach

A fine-sandy beach stretching for eight kilometers extends along a south-facing section of Grömitz’s Baltic Sea coast. It is suitable for swimming and walking; visitors can also relax in beach chairs, visit cafés, and take pedal boat trips.

The 398-meter-long pier in Grömitz features a sun deck, rotating chairs, climbing nets, a lighthouse slide, and an underwater observation gondola. Boat tours regularly depart from there.

Culture and Leisure

The Cismar Monastery is located near Grömitz. The wider region around Grömitz also includes the dog beach, Dog Beach 1, the seawater wave pool, Rosenhagen Beach, the Riemannstein, St. Lorenz, and the Kulturgeschichtliches Denkmal bird park.

Getting There

By car, Grömitz can be reached from the A1 via the Neustadt-Pelzerhaken/Grömitz exit, followed by approximately 10 kilometers on the B 501. Travelers arriving by train use Neustadt/Holstein station and continue by local bus or taxi. The onward journey takes approximately 20 minutes.
