Neujellingsdorf is the starting and finishing point of a family-friendly hiking route approximately 3.2 kilometers long. It follows the fields to the Mill Museum in nearby Lemkenhafen; along the way, there are opportunities to take a refreshment break and visit the historic mill.

The starting point of the hiking route in Neujellingsdorf can be reached by car or by bus routes 595 and 596. On Fehmarn, hiking and cycling routes run through fields and meadows, along dikes and the coast. These include the Fehmarn section of the Baltic Sea Cycle Route and the Fehmarn section of the 530-kilometer-long Mönchsweg.
