Kraksdorf on the Baltic Sea: Beach, Cycling Routes and Coastal Nature

Kraksdorf combines the Baltic Sea beach, steep coast and paths by the water with clear orientation for active days. The village is one of four beach locations in the municipality of Neukirchen. The municipality’s coastal area has six kilometres of natural beach that is free of spa tax, gently sloping and supervised. At Costa Sahna in the Kraksdorf district, the beach steps provide access from the steep coast to the beach. Public toilets are located directly next to the beach bistro. There are therefore two differently designed access routes to the beach, from the car park and from the steep coast. The path from the car park is paved and slightly downhill, while the beach steps at Costa Sahna lead from the steep coast to the shore. The two access routes thus offer different starting points for the same stretch of beach.

Kraksdorf Beach also has measures in place to protect the endangered ringed plover. The bathing area and coastal nature are therefore located directly within the same visitor area, without the nature conservation aspect being overshadowed by beach use.

Kraksdorf for Cyclists and Hikers

The beach steps in Kraksdorf are located directly on the Baltic Coast Cycling Route and can serve as a stopover for cyclists and hikers to go swimming or access the beach. A detour on the cycling tour From OstseeFerienLand to the Baltic Sea Headland also leads to Kraksdorf Beach. During a tour, the beach can therefore be planned both as the destination of this detour and as a stopover on the Baltic Coast Cycling Route.
