The steep coast of Sierksdorf is associated with fossils and geological traces of the glacial formation of the landscape. The seawater wave pool is also located in the immediate vicinity of Sierksdorf.

Culture and History

Sierksdorf’s cultural heritage includes historic farmsteads, thatched barns, fishermen’s cottages, as well as the old cottages of Siedenkamp, Hof Stawedder, and Oevelgönne. A permanent exhibition at the Haus des Gastes presents works associated with Karl Schmidt-Rottluff’s time in Sierksdorf. The Expressionist artist spent the summers there from 1951 to 1973.

Möweninsel, St. Lorenz, and Scharberg are located in the vicinity of Sierksdorf. In the wider regional area are Riemannstein, Cismar Abbey, Buchhorst, as well as Dassow and St. Nicholas Church.
