The Bokeler Au winds through Bokel in loops – a small river between forests and fields. Parts of the municipality lie in the Westensee–Obere Eider Nature Park.

Nature and Culture

Mövenberg is located nearby. Wartenberg, Borkenberg and Tüteberg are situated in the surrounding area of Bokel.

The St. George Church in Jevenstedt is located in the vicinity of Bokel. Further afield in the region are the zoo, the Herb Museum and the Kreuzkirche in Neumünster.

The Bokel Children's Cultural Village offers children and young people opportunities to develop creative projects and artistic activities connected with experiencing the local natural environment. A historic water mill in Bokel was used to grind grain from 1589 onwards; today, the building houses an eel museum.

Bokel is also associated with a village made up of colorful circus wagons. Ulliwood is considered a circus-wagon hostel where visitors can spend their holidays.

Bokel can be reached by regular bus services from nearby railway hubs. Regional-Express trains stop in Nortorf, approximately 7 km from Bokel, as well as in Neumünster and Rendsburg.
