The Fahrenstedt Church is located in Böklund. It was built in the first third of the 13th century; it was extended in 1623 and 1787 and restored later.

Culture and History

The historic furnishings include a pulpit from 1604, a baptismal font from 1615, an altar from 1607 with an altarpiece from 1763, and a free-standing wooden bell tower from 1595. Set into the foundation of the south wall is a Romanesque tympanum depicting a dragon beneath four arches and a small bird.

The church stands in the medieval settlement area of Farnstedtmarck near the Wellspangau, which flows from Lake Langsee towards the Schlei.
