Fahrdorf: Hotels and Accommodation

Fahrdorf is located on the southern shore of the Schlei, opposite Schleswig. Many properties extend directly to the water, and the town has a distinctly maritime character.

The local beach includes a meadow and a playground. The shore of the Schlei is used for swimming and surfing.

Culture and History

Fahrdorf has documented settlement remains dating from the Neolithic and Bronze Ages. There are more than 80 archaeological sites in the municipality. From the Viking Age onward, nearby Haithabu shaped the surrounding area; Fahrdorf is located near the Viking settlement of Haithabu and the Haithabu Viking Museum.

Schloss Gottorf, the State Museum, and the rune stone are also located near Fahrdorf.

Surroundings

The surrounding area of Fahrdorf includes the ruins of Edelsturm, Tolkschau, and Lindholm. Further afield in the region are the wildlife park and Noer Beach.
