Langballig and its districts are located in the Angeln region, directly on the Flensburg Outer Fjord. The coastal landscape encompasses cliffs, stream valleys and expansive meadows. Langballig is also officially recognised as a health resort with a therapeutic climate.

Coast and Nature

Walks along the Flensburg Outer Fjord provide access to a natural landscape and peaceful surroundings. The Langballigau Valley has been designated a nature reserve since 1990 and provides a habitat for kingfishers and grey wagtails. A walk through the valley includes hillside forests, streams, meadows, marshland and the sea.

Beach and Harbour

In the Langballigau district, there is a natural beach next to the small fishing harbour. During the season, the natural beach is equipped with a bathing jetty; pedal boat hire is also available there. A beach wheelchair for the sand and a bathing wheelchair can be borrowed from the harbour master. Parking is available at the beach. The small fishing harbour has restaurants, cafés and ice-cream stands.

Culture

The Angeln/Unewatt Landscape Museum has a 1.7-kilometre museum route. The Fortuna windmill is a restored, operational technical monument there. Volunteers demonstrate the butter churn and the windmill. The butter churn is a functioning installation that illustrates historical work in dairying and agriculture. The museum has visitor parking spaces on Federal Road 199; it is located in Langballig at Unewatter Straße 1a.
