Steinbergkirche showcases history in tangible places: In the church cemetery stands a protected lime tree estimated to be more than 400 years old. Its trunk measures 9 meters in circumference; it was planted around the time of the Reformation. Historically, it served as a Thing site for local court assemblies.

Culture and History

At the center of Steinbergkirche stands St. Martin's Church, a Romanesque church from the 12th century with a brick tower dating from 1753. Inside, you can see the carved altar, the carved pulpit gallery, and historic epitaphs; it is also possible to visit the tower.

The Bismarck Tower stands on the approximately 70-meter-high Scheersberg near Steinbergkirche. It is a tower built in 1903. It is 32 meters high, and its observation platform is located at a height of 19 meters.

The Skulpturengarten art space presents paintings and bronze sculptures in an exhibition space with a studio. There are also works made of Corten steel and stone. The exhibition period runs from April to October.
