Tolk: Hotels and Accommodation

Tolk lies at the edge of a plateau enclosed by a former glacial valley. The Wellspang-Au flows out of the nearby Langsee and reaches the Schlei as the Füsinger-Au.

History and Townscape

Tolk was first mentioned in 1192 in a deed of foundation issued by Bishop Waldemar. Tolk Church has fieldstone walls that have been preserved for more than 800 years. Some stones bear pre-Christian symbols, suggesting that the church may stand on the site of an earlier place of worship. The KirchTörn also begins at Tolk Church, where visitors can park their cars. A village renewal programme launched in 1985 aimed to preserve valuable buildings in Tolk that shape the townscape.

Cycling and Hiking Routes

Tolk and the surrounding area have an extensive network of cycle paths. The KreisbahnTörn passes through Tolk on its route between Taarstedt and Böklund. A detour on the KreisbahnTörn leads to the bathing area at Langsee and is intended for a break by the water.

There are local hiking trails in Tolk. The hiking trails in Tolk are part of a regional network with uniform signage, overview maps and information boards.

Tolk is home to the Tolk-Schau family amusement park, with more than 100 attractions, over 100 life-size prehistoric animals, playgrounds, a park railway, picnic areas, a café and snack facilities, as well as domestic animals throughout the park.
