Ängelholm between Beaches, Museums and Nature Trails

Ängelholm showcases its coastal side at Klitterhus, where a long sandy beach and a large bathing pier await. Klitterhus also has an accessible bathing ramp and a beach wheelchair available to borrow.

Culture

The Järnvägens Museum tells the story of railway history through a large model railway with moving trains and period buildings from different eras. For museum visits, a discovery bag containing various aids and supportive materials can be borrowed. The simulator presents three travel experiences: a journey by horse and carriage, a steam train from around 1900 and an X2000 train.

From Ängelholm railway station, it is only a few minutes' walk to the entrance of the Järnvägens Museum; from there, an accessible walkway leads into the forest. Ängelholms Flygmuseum is an air defence museum for aviation enthusiasts and the general public of all ages. On display are aircraft ranging from the J 22 to the JAS 39 Gripen, all of which were in service with the squadron. The museum has three different flight simulators. Since 1 September 2025, it has been closed for renovation work until autumn 2026; a reopening date has not yet been set.

Galleri Moment presents contemporary Swedish and Nordic art. At Gamla Rådhuset, exhibitions rotate between art, photography, crafts, handicrafts, upcycling and other subjects. Kronohäktet is a historic building in the centre of Ängelholm where lectures, exhibitions, music rehearsals and other creative activities take place. Along the shopping street, the names of eleven well-known residents of Ängelholm are displayed on black diabase stones.

Nature and trails

Kronoskogen has marked hiking trails and a designated mountain biking area. The marked trails are between 2.8 and 10 kilometres long. Ottos runda is a 10-kilometre circular route through Kronoskogen and along the Rönne å that is open year-round; it starts at Stortorget or the tourist office.

Lergöksrundan is a 16-kilometre cycling route that runs by the sea through Kronoskogen and through the urban area of Ängelholm. Outside Ängelholm, the Skåneleden SL1 Kust-kustleden includes a 12-kilometre section between Björnamossa and Koarp. Nybroleden follows the river through deciduous woodland with gnarled oaks and large beeches.

Leisure

Admission to Pytteskogen is free; the park is open around the clock every day of the year. Discs can be borrowed free of charge through Fritidsbanken Ängelholm. Ängelholm's skatepark consists of a modern concrete area with bowl and street sections, including banks, ledges, rails, manual pads, stairs and quarters.

Rönne-Å-Rännet is an annual canoe competition for participants of all ages. The programme includes 200-metre races, canoe polo and long-distance races ranging from 2.5 to 20 kilometres. Hembygdsparken has five museums. In the area around Hembygdsparken, Upzone Ängelholm offers high ropes courses, ziplines, team challenges and outdoor escape games.

During the summer season, Pyttetåget runs back and forth between Ängelholm railway station, Stortorget and Hembygdsparken. Other places in the regional context include Norravaralov, Hjärnarp, Stavershult, Munka-Ljungby, Vejbystrand, Ängelholm and Strövelstorp.

History and visiting

Ängelholm was founded in 1516 at the mouth of the Rönne å. Ängelholm Tourist Centre provides information, inspiration and personal advice, sells tickets for events, and stocks locally produced gifts and souvenirs.
