Between Höörs Mölla and Stanstorps stenbrott, the approximately three-kilometre-long, easy-to-moderate Brottets bana trail runs through Stenskogen. Signs at selected points provide information about the history of the surrounding area. Sandstone has been quarried in Stenskogen since the 12th century for the production of building blocks and millstones.

The directly associated places include Tjörnarp, Höör and Ludvigsborg.

Trails and nature

The illuminated 750-metre-long Backaslingan fitness loop is located near Villa Backa. In the north, it connects to the pedestrian and cycle path by the Kvarnbäck boules courts, and in the south to Hälsans stig and Skåneleden. The marked Fogdarödsslingan runs for five kilometres through Fogdarödsskogen and is suitable for walking and running.

Frostavallen offers five hiking loops of varying lengths and difficulty levels. The 16-kilometre-long Pilgrimsleden begins at Frihetens kapell at Stiftsgården Åkersberg in Höör. The Skåneleden sections SL2 and SL3 run parallel through the centre of Höör and both pass the railway station.

The marked Hjärtslingan is 11.11 kilometres long and runs through deciduous and coniferous forest, along babbling streams and past ponds. It also passes Onsvalakällan, where there is a shelter and a toilet. Nearby is the Västra Bosjöklosterhalvön nature reserve, with a 3.7-kilometre hiking loop that partly follows Västra Ringsjön. There are 18 nature reserves in Höör Municipality.

In Höör Municipality, there are opportunities for outdoor cycling on mountain-bike trails, former railway embankments and the long-distance Sverigeleden cycle route. Nearby, the Orup mountain-bike area has four routes ranging from 800 metres to 6.4 kilometres in length. Sport anglers can choose from six bodies of water and around twenty fish species in Höör Municipality.

Berggrenska gården is a Scanian farmhouse with living quarters and a stable, dating from the 19th century, in central Höör. Its museum presents art exhibitions, and it is also possible to arrange one’s own exhibitions there. Minnenas museum in Höör is a family museum with toys, household items, cars and motorcycles.

Höörs kyrka was built in the second half of the 12th century by Mårten Stenmästare and, like Lund Cathedral, was constructed from stone from Höörs stenskog. The medieval church’s apse, choir and nave have been preserved. The original baptismal font of Höörs kyrka bears the runic inscription “Martin mik giarde”.
