Nature

At Nöbbelövs mosse, an approximately 3 km circular trail leads around the large pasture and back to Gunnesbogården. Several relatively rare bird species breed in the wetland, including garganey and shoveler.

The Skrylle Nature Reserve covers more than 500 hectares and was established both as a recreational area and to protect plants and animals. There is a 1.2 km wheelchair-accessible trail there. With a little luck, roe deer, fallow deer, wild boar, woodpeckers, buzzards and red kites can be spotted in the forests of Skrylle.

The former quarry at Billebjer is filled with water and is often used for swimming. Billebjer combines species-rich heathland, lush deciduous forest and archaeological remains; from the summit, clear weather offers views across the plain between Malmö and Lund. The Höjeådalen nature area between Värpinge and Sankt Lars combines winding paths, hilly pastures, bird-rich ponds and the new Klimatleken play area.

Trails and Activities

Höjeådalen is easiest to reach from Värpinge, Klostergården or Sankt Larsparken. Rinnebäcksravinen is located near Värpinge in southwestern Lund and is easily accessible by bicycle or bus.

Hardebergaspåret follows a former railway line and is now a footpath and cycle path between Lund and Södra Sandby. For the most part, the route is a wide, paved, two-way cycle path with bicycle pumps. Hälsans stig in Lund is a 12 km circular route that runs, among other places, through Stadsparken, along the Höje å, through Lundagård, and past the cathedral and the Botanical Garden. Around 70 km of the Skåneleden trail pass through Lund Municipality.

Culture and History

Dalby kyrka is considered the oldest surviving stone church in the Nordic countries. It was built as a cathedral and bishop's church in connection with a new Danish diocesan division in 1059/1060.

Kulturen in Lund is a cultural history museum with historic houses from different periods, several exhibitions and programmes for different age groups. Lund Cathedral, around 900 years old, is open daily and offers guided tours.

Skissernas Museum has a collection of sketches and preparatory works for public art that is considered the world's largest. Lund Art Gallery presents new exhibitions every year featuring regional and international artists, including both established and emerging artists. Guided tours, lectures and creative workshops are offered in connection with the exhibitions.

Science and Gardens

Vattenhallen Science Center offers experiences and experiments relating to science and research, with close links to Lund University and the research community immediately adjacent to it. The Botanical Garden in Lund is a green oasis for relaxation, with a garden, greenhouses, a shop and a café.

East of Lund, Dalby Söderskog National Park can be reached by car, public transport or bicycle. In the vicinity of Lund, Dalby Söderskog is regarded as Sweden's smallest national park; in spring it displays blossoms, in summer green foliage and intense birdsong.

Visit Lund provides official tourist information and authorised InfoPoints with personal on-site assistance at several locations in the municipality. Lund city centre is easily accessible by bus and train; for travel by car, there are car parks at a reasonable distance.
