Culture

The history of Säfstaholm Palace began in the early 17th century. The palace park is designed as an English landscape park with large ponds and invites visitors to enjoy relaxing breaks, walks and picnics. The historic surroundings also include the protected parent tree of the Säfstaholm apple, which is more than 200 years old.

A town walk in Vingåker, marked with red signs, tells the history of the area through clothing, the body and garment production. Västra Vingåker Church is one of Sweden's largest rural churches and dates back to the 14th century.

The Högsjö Bruksmuseum is housed in the so-called White School, which was built in 1785. The museum presents the area's textile history and offers tours for the public as well as for booked groups.

Thorslundkagge offers guided tours of its own cooperage. Whisky tastings are also available, featuring drinks that have been stored in the company's own wooden casks. Fourteen historic oak casks are displayed in Ekliggarnas sal.

There is no car park at Tomsängen; the Bistorp bus stop is approximately 500 metres from the car park at Tomsängen Nature Reserve.
