Tinglev between Moorland and Culture

Tinglev Mose: Trails through the Moorland

The landscape around Tinglev can be explored particularly well via Tinglev Mose and its trails. The moorland was originally the shallow lake Tinglev Sø southeast of Tinglev. A marked hiking trail around 5 km long leads around the moorland; approximately 600 metres run along boardwalks through the marshland. In the southern part, a small observation tower offers views of the wildlife. Tinglev Mose is a wetland area with abundant wildlife and combines nature observation with physical activity.

There are five hiking trails of different lengths in and around Tinglev. All five hiking trails begin at the bicycle shelter by Tinglev Midt, north of the library. The route descriptions at the starting point contain QR codes with additional information. It is also important for orientation that there are no parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of the Tinglev Mose route. The different trail lengths make it easier to incorporate a suitable walking time into your own plans.

Natural History and Orientation

A restoration project was carried out in Tinglev Mose from 1999 to 2004. As part of the project, the water level was raised by approximately half a metre to create habitats for many rare plant and animal species. Tinglev Mose thus brings together a natural experience and the history of the landscape.

Church, Associations and Remembrance

Tinglev Church was built around 1100 and has a winged altarpiece from the 16th century. In the same church, a German-minded and a Danish-minded clergyman use the church. Cultural life in Tinglev includes both Danish and German associations. This means that the town's cultural character is reflected in its sacred history and association life.
