Flovt between beach and nature

Flovt combines a connection to the beach with a distinctive focus on nature and birdlife. Flovt Beach is located in the vicinity of Flovt and has been awarded the Blue Flag. Salt marshes and beach meadows in the wildlife reserve

The natural landscape includes the Nørremaj wildlife reserve. It consists of salt marshes and relatively dry, grassland-like beach meadows and protects the Flovt Sande bird locality. The different types of meadow give the area a varied landscape character. For nature enthusiasts, this means that the focus is not only on the coast but also on open, wet and drier habitats.

Flovt Sande between Nor and Lillebælt

Flovt Sande lies between Bankel Nor and Lillebælt. The watercourse Løbet flows into the sea at Flovt Sande. Around 160 different bird species have been observed at Flovt Sande. Birdwatching is therefore an obvious travel interest, while the location between the two landscapes opens up a maritime and nature-oriented perspective.

Beach and bird habitat

Flovt Beach is part of the Lillebælt IBA area. Together with the salt marshes, beach meadows and bird locality, this creates a broad range of coastal themes. Protected landscapes near RÃ¥de

Southwest of Flovt Beach lies a large protected natural area, from which Råde Bæk flows into the sea. There is also a Natura 2000 site at Råde Beach. It is a small, semi-dry and gently undulating mosaic of dry grassland areas and grey and green dunes affected by scrub encroachment. The landscape therefore extends from protected coastal areas to drier, gently shifting dunes.

A longer route in Southern Jutland

The Camino Haderslev Næs offers a distinct active perspective. In Southern Jutland, it is a signposted 106-kilometre route with nine stages. This is a different format from a stay focused on the beach or birdlife: the route appeals to travellers considering a longer hike as an independent focus. The nine stages give it a clearly structured form for trip planning.
