Accommodation in Lövstabruk
Lövstabruk combines the history of an ironworking community with museums, gardens, walking trails and cultural experiences. If you are looking for accommodation in Lövstabruk for your trip, you are choosing a place where historic sites, music and landscapes can be explored in different ways.
Historic Lövstabruk along Stora gatan
Ironworking was carried out in Lövstabruk from the 16th century until 1926. Lövstabruk, known as Leufsta bruk in earlier times, is one of the better-preserved so-called Vallonbruk ironworks communities. Stora gatan provides a clear way to get your bearings in the village: in Lövsta bruk, it forms an 800-metre-long main axis running from north to south. If you are interested in the historic structure of the village, you can take this route into account when exploring on foot.
One of the cultural attractions is Lövstabruks Herrgård. The manor house was built around 1725; in the early 19th century, it was connected to the two wings. As a public museum, Lövstabruks Herrgård can be visited with a day pass. Smedsbostaden is a living museum showing how a blacksmith's family lived and made their home. History and architecture also come together in Lövstabruk Church: it was inaugurated in 1726 and built of brick in the Carolean Baroque style.
Museums, music and regional experiences
The Nationalmuseum collection in Lövstabruk comprises around 60 objects, most of which date from the 17th and 18th centuries. Klaverens Hus houses a large collection of keyboard instruments, including around 350 pianos. This gives Lövstabruk several different starting points for a visit: you can learn about the history of the ironworking community, view historic residences and manor rooms, or focus on music and instruments.
The events programme also has a musical focus. The Leufsta- och Cahmanorgelns vänner association organises the annual Cahmandagarna, featuring music played on the Cahman organ. For a different local perspective, Leufstabruk Bryggeri offers bookable beer tastings at the brewery and sells some bottles of beer directly from the brewery. Gardens, walking trails and a bathing area
Lövstabruk is surrounded, among other things, by a reconstructed Baroque garden, an English park and an orchard. The Baroque garden was reconstructed in 1970–1971 by Walter Bauer based on drawings by A. F. Barnekow from 1769. The historic surroundings of the bruk, the park and the area around Lövstabruk are open year-round for independent walks. This makes the landscape an integral part of your day plans, even if you are visiting the village primarily for its museums and historic buildings.
Just before Lövstabruk's southern gate, there is also a bathing area with a diving tower, jetties, a changing room and a toilet.
Getting there and other places to compare
