Tranemo combines a circular lakeside trail with cultural attractions and historic sites. Those who want to plan their trip around exercise, a bathing area, the cinema and local history will find various points of interest for planning their day here. The Tranemosjön runt circular trail is 5.5 kilometres long, described as an easy hiking trail and runs right through Tranemo.

Circular Trail, Lake and Bathing Areas

The car park opposite Tranemo Church is a good starting point for the Tranemosjön runt circular trail. The trail is a suitable choice for anyone who wants to include a manageable route around Tranemosjön in their trip. Along the trail, near Parkudden, there is a bathing area with a jetty, swimming raft, beach volleyball court and boat jetty. The individual facilities can be seen as different options for a day by the water: you can go hiking, take a break by the lake or include the bathing area in your plans.

Another bathing area at Tranemosjön can be reached via Brogatan; parking is available there. This specific information provides another access point to the lake in addition to the circular trail.

Centralen Cultural Centre and Local Exhibitions

Centralen Cultural Centre is located on the shore of Tranemosjön and opened in 2020 following a local initiative for which 1,000 signatures were collected. Centralen combines a library with a bistro, a hotel and flexible, creative spaces. This makes the venue one of the important cultural points of reference in Tranemo.

Those interested in art will find further points of interest in Tranemo. Tranemo konstnärsgrupp runs a gallery on Storgatan. The library also houses Svarta Galleriet, an exhibition wall where local exhibitors can display their works. Both offerings give a cultural focus to exploring the town, but differ in form: the gallery represents the work of the artists’ group, while Svarta Galleriet is connected to the library.

Church, Cinema and Other Activities

Tranemo Church is also part of the town’s history. It was built in 1882 to replace an earlier wooden church and was designed by the Borås architect Emil Langlet. Anyone wishing to include historic architecture in their visit can mark the church as a separate sightseeing point. This does not imply any statement about current access or specific opening hours.

For film enthusiasts, Bio Tranan offers a regularly scheduled programme: every other Sunday, screenings are held with a children’s film and an adult film. In addition, there is a film on the theme of the Nordic countries on Thursdays each month, as well as a lunchtime cinema on Wednesdays. Depending on the programme, families, couples and solo travellers can include different cultural events in their plans.

Active days can also be spent at the Discgolf Tranemo disc golf course. It is aimed at beginners and experienced players who want to practise approach and placement throws. Beyond Tranemo, the Sjuhäradsrundan runs between Borås, Ulricehamn, Tranemo and Svenljunga. The circular route is 15 Swedish miles long in total, of which 12 Swedish miles are completely free of cars.
