Ramsowo once lay along a trade route. In 1854, a hoard of Arab coins was found there; a fortified settlement had already existed on Zamkowa Góra in early times.

A World War I monument in Ramsowo commemorates the inhabitants of Ramsowo and the neighboring localities who lost their lives in the war.
