Szabruk: Hotels and Accommodation

Sząbruk is considered a rural settlement surrounded by forests and lakes. The village is home to a historic parish church associated with a parish that was documented even before the settlement was founded.

Culture

The parish church was endowed in 1363 and consecrated after its reconstruction in 1500. Further architectural additions were made later: an imposing tower in the 17th century and a major extension between 1911 and 1913.

Other features of Sząbruk include seven Catholic roadside chapels. One of them is located near Dworek Hermanów and is associated with a legend. The village also has a village cultural centre founded in 1994; the volunteer fire brigade is housed in the same building.

Nature

Gmina Gietrzwałd is considered an area in the central part of the Olsztyn Lake District, situated among 14 lakes, fields and forests. Associated with the gmina are the national road known as the “Road of a Thousand Lakes of the North” and a railway line built between 1871 and 1873.
