Wierzchowo: Hotels and accommodation

The Church of St. Adalbert stands in Wierzchowo; it was built entirely of red brick in 1891. A monument there commemorates the local residents who died in the First World War.

The local Gminny Ośrodek Sportu i Turystyki is regarded as the organiser of artistic, entertainment and tourism events, as well as performances, exhibitions, revues and festivals.

History

A memorial site in Wierzchowo commemorates the battles to break through the Pomeranian Wall. Historically, the town is also associated with the former internment centre for Solidarity activists in Wierzchowo Pomorskie, which was established in December 1981.

Nature

The Sośnica nature reserve protects an old beech and oak forest on Góra Mylna, a 181-metre-high moraine elevation. The stand is estimated to be 250 to 300 years old and also includes a wild cherry stand.
