Mrzeżyno is located on Poland’s Baltic coast at the mouth of the Rega River, on the Trzebiatów Coast. The town’s maritime character includes a harbor that is also described as a base for sea fishing.
Coast and Nature
The town has Baltic beaches and dunes described as reaching heights of up to 10 meters. Lake Resko Przymorskie is considered to be located near Mrzeżyno. The surrounding area also includes Plaża Dżwirzyno, Plaża w Pogorzelicy and Plaża Niechorze. In the wider regional area is Płaza Kolobrzeg.
Culture and History
Mrzeżyno has a church dating from 1912 and a monument from 1945 commemorating Poland’s wedding to the sea. The town’s history also includes its medieval role as Trzebiatów’s trading port and Poland’s wedding to the sea in 1945. The surrounding area is also home to Trzebiatow - Zespol palacowo-zamkowy z XVIII w.
Routes and Regional Connections
Two named tourist routes pass through Mrzeżyno: the international Baltic Coastal Cycle Route and the Czesław Piskorski Coastal Route. Trzebiatów is described as being approximately 12 kilometers from Mrzeżyno in the nearby area.
