Haraldsted: Discover the Lake, Trails and Culture
In Haraldsted, Haraldsted Sø, a nature and activity trail, a pilgrim trail and sites of cultural and historical interest cater to a range of travel interests.
Haraldsted Sø: Size and Access to the Water
Haraldsted Sø stretches for approximately 5 kilometres and covers around 200 hectares. The lake is therefore a clear geographical focal point of Haraldsted. At Haraldsted Sø, visitors may launch their own canoe, kayak, SUP board or rowing boat from the municipal bathing jetties. For a stay by the water, the approximately five-kilometre length and the area of around 200 hectares can be considered separately. Anyone using their own boat should access the water via the municipal bathing jetties. When planning a day at the lake, both the extent of the waterway and the boat brought along must therefore be taken into account.
Hiking on the Ringsted Oplevelsessti
The Ringsted Oplevelsessti is a 25-kilometre nature and activity trail that runs through most of Ringsted Municipality. Between Høm in the south and Haraldsted in the north, it shares part of its route with long-distance hiking trail 6 – Sjællandsleden. Its length makes the Oplevelsessti a hiking destination in its own right and means that completing the entire route requires a considerable amount of time. When planning a hike, the route running through the municipality must therefore be taken into account.
The web app for the Ringsted Oplevelsessti provides information about the flora and fauna along the route, as well as the rich cultural history of the areas. When preparing for the 25-kilometre trail, nature observation and historical topics can be considered together. Anyone planning to walk the route in sections can use the web app's information along the section being explored.
