Fjord Views and Routes through Roskilde

The marked 12.5 km circular route “Sti til Naturen” begins at Roskilde Cathedral and leads past Roskilde Harbor and along the fjord. It therefore combines historic landmarks with a waterside route, without requiring you to focus on just one city theme.

From Roskilde Harbor, there are views across the fjord and toward Roskilde Cathedral. Roskilde Oplevelseshavn features aquariums and exhibitions about life in the fjord, the national park, and birds and fish.

Kildestrøget is an approximately 5 km route connecting Roskilde’s eight historic springs and leading through the city’s nature and history. The different route lengths give you a clear choice between a more extensive circular walk and a shorter route with a historical focus.

Festival City with a Broad Program

Roskilde Festival is an independent, nonprofit festival with a large and diverse program of music, art, activism and gastronomy. In 2026, it was the festival’s 54th edition.
