Baltic Sea Tourism
Since seaside bathing culture developed along the German Baltic coast around 200 years ago, it has changed its face several times. Tourism and the services offered by its hosts have always reflected the preferences of Baltic Sea holidaymakers. Some tourism trends are soon replaced by something more innovative, while others endure for decades—just think of the beach chair, beloved and appreciated by all Baltic Sea holidaymakers.
In recent years, Baltic Sea tourism has shifted towards more sophisticated offerings. This applies to accommodation, dining, wellness and health holidays, as well as a broad range of leisure activities. Active holidays featuring new sports trends such as Nordic walking, kitesurfing and golf, as well as classics like cycling tours, are especially popular with people of all ages.
