Dahme

The Baltic seaside resort of Dahme grew from its old village centre in both directions along the coast. Today, it can boast a beach more than 6 km long that is almost entirely free of stones, with a car-free promenade running alongside a quarter of its length. Woods and meadows, among which the spa gardens are nestled, form a hinterland that is ideal for cycling. With Dahmeshöved Lighthouse, located on the cliff south of the village about halfway to Kellenhusen, Dahme overlooks the northern end of the Bay of Mecklenburg.
The indoor seawater swimming pool and spa treatment department are what qualify Dahme as a Baltic seaside health resort. A wide range of leisure activities is available for the whole family, including tennis courts, a riding stable, a bocce court, mini-golf courses and children's playgrounds.
The sporting opportunities are remarkable not only for their variety, but also for their high standard. The regular “Dahme Trophy” brings together former world-class track cyclists, while former professional footballers and tennis players lead courses for young and old alike. At the end of the path to the north beach, visitors finally reach the skate fun park.
